What is the OnePlus Trade-In Program?

The OnePlus Trade-in Program offers instant credit or cashback for your trade-in device. Choose a new OnePlus phone that suits you and receive an estimated trade-in value for your current device.
If you agree with the value and successfully place the trade-in order, we'll provide you with a trade-in shipping label (at no cost to you) for sending your device to us. After our trade-in partner receive your trade-in device, we will inspect and verify its condition within 3 business days.

How does Trade-in work?

1. Get device trade-in value

Select a new OnePlus phone that's right for you, add your trade-in device, to get your estimated Trade-in value. If the new OnePlus phone is eligible for instant credit, a discount will be applied to your order immediately, in which case, payment with a credit card is required. If you’re ineligible for instant credit, we’ll credit your payment method once our Trade-in service partner has received and evaluated your device, in which case, no specific payment method is required. 


2. Ship your old device

Send your Trade-in device within 21 days using the provided prepaid shipping label. Upon ordering, you'll receive an order confirmation email with a "Download Shipping Label" link. Download and print the label, attach it to your old device, and send it back within 21 days to avoid discount cancellation.


3. Follow the instructions provided to erase your device, then pack it up and drop it off with the courier.


4. When your device is received at our trade-in partner, it will be inspected, data-wiped. 

* If your device upon inspection is found to be of a different model or condition than you entered for your trade-in, you'll be alerted immediately by email of the change with a revised offer to accept or reject. If you reject the offer or don't respond in 14 days, we'll send the device back to you free of charge. If you accept the offer, then the trade will be ready to pay out.

What is instant trade-in credit?

When you purchase a new OnePlus device and trade in an eligible old device, you can receive an instant credit, which can be applied immediately towards the purchase of a new OnePlus device.

Please note that instant credit is currently only available in the US region.

The amount of instant credit available varies depending on the new device you are purchasing. For example, when you buy the OnePlus Open, the maximum instant credit amount is limited to $1,000. If the trade-in value of your old device exceeds $1,000, you will not be able to choose the Instant Credit Trade-in method. Instead, you will receive the trade-in value and bonus as cashback or OnePlus Store tokens.

In which senerio, you will receive cashback?

If the new device you are purchasing or the region you are in is not eligible for instant trade-in credit, or if the total value of your old device and bonus amount exceeds the maximum instant trade-in credit amount, device value & bonus will be issued as cashback.

However, if your device's trade-in value is higher than your purchase order value, we will send a cash coupon for the remaining amount to your OnePlus account.

The maximum instant trade-in credit amounts for different products are as follows:

  1. OnePlus 12: $600
  2. OnePlus 12R: $350
  3. OnePlus Open: $1,000
  4. OnePlus N30: $230
  5. OnePlus Watch 2: $200
  6. OnePlus Pad: $300

Can I place a trade-in order with the Canadian or US stores if I am located in a different region?

Unfortunately, our partner only supports Canada and the US for now. Please visit your region's store to learn more about their Trade-in program.

Which devices can I trade-in? How much will I get?

When you visit the OnePlus Trade-In Program page, you'll answer a few simple questions about your device and describe its overall condition. Based on the information you provide, the quote for your phone is displayed instantly.

Keep in mind that we need to receive your trade-in item on time and the condition needs to match your initial description.

If the condition of the device doesn't match your initial description of it, we will send you a revised value via email. You can either accept or reject the revised value. If you accept, we'll continue with the trade-in. If you reject, we'll cancel the trade-in and return your old device to you. No matter what, we'll send you email updates about the progress of your trade-in, so you'll know what's happening at every step.

How long is my quoted value good for?

The quoted value is valid for 21 days.

How do I pack and ship the old device?

It is required that you remove all passwords, locks (Find My iPhone, SamSung, Google, etc.), SIM cards, and memory cards before sending the device.

Please remove additional accessories and personal items from your device.

Please package your device with sufficient protection to ensure that the device is not damaged in transit. Damage through improper packaging will not be covered by your Standard Manufacturer's Warranty.

BEFORE SHIPPING: Please take 4 clear pictures of your device.
- Picture of the front of the device
- Picture of the back of the device
- Picture of IMEI page on the screen of the device (if applicable)
- Side by side picture of the shipping label and the device

We recommend:
Using 3 to 5 inches of bubble wrap to protect your product.
Using 3 inch wide plastic packing tape or 3 inch wide reinforced water-activated paper tape to seal the box.
Removing or covering all old labels if you are reusing packaging. Leaving room on the largest flat surface of your package for a shipping label to be applied.
Do not use Carrier Mail Packs.
Do not use Envelopes.
Do not use Styrofoam popcorn or peanuts.

Drop your device off at the nearest staffed shipping carrier, and please retain your drop off receipt for your records.

How long does the trade-in process take?

Generally, it takes 2–3 weeks. But the sooner you send us your device, the sooner we can verify its condition and process your trade-in cashback or voucher.

Is there a way to track my trade-in status?
  • For real-time updates regarding your trade status, please visit your Order Tracking Page provided by OnePlus trade-in partner.  *The confirmation number means the trade-in ID. 
Why was my offer revised?

Devices are inspected to confirm the reported condition. In the event that our inspection determines the device is in a different condition than reported, your offer will be revised and we will notify you via email. You will have the opportunity to accept or reject the revised offer.

Can I cancel a trade-in?

If you wish to cancel your purchase order and get your trade-in device back, simply submit a cancellation request. If the trade-in process is already completed before your cancellation request, you'll receive an equivalent amount in OnePlus Tokens/vouchers within 3 business days.

Will the data on my device be cleared?

We have professional software to perform all data removal. It is recommended that you backup all the data from your device before sending it to us. After data removal, you will not be able to recover any data again. In addition to this, it is required that you remove all passwords, locks (Find My iPhone, Samsung, Google, etc.), SIM cards, and memory cards before sending the device.

How do I find the IMEI number for my OnePlus device?

· Power on your OnePlus device and open up the dial pad.

· Enter the code *#06# , your IMEI number will appear on your screen.

Please note, you can also check for the IMEI number in print on the package of the phone.

What happens to my device once I send it to the OnePlus Trade-In Partner?

You will initially receive an email confirming your trade details, which will include an attached prepaid shipping label for convenience.


Please ensure you backup and delete any stored data on the device, remove all SIM cards, and disable any device locks or passwords. OnePlus cannot be held responsible for any data loss during the trade-in process.


Next, securely pack the wiped device in the supplied shipping materials and affix the prepaid label. Upon receipt, your device will be inspected within three business days. If the device’s condition matches your previous depiction during the trade-in process, the trade-in will be ratified and without email notification, since the initial quote will be equivalent to or higher than the first quote.


However, if the device’s condition does not correspond to the initial description, we will send you an email with a revised quote for your affirmation. If you either decline the new quote, or fail to respond within 14 days, the product will be shipped back to the given address.

How are the recovered goods processed? Will it re-enter the market?

For devices that no longer have a market value, we will carry out an environmentally-friendly recycling process. For devices with value, we will carry out regular second-hand sales after data removal and inspection. We are determined not to refurbish the device, and to ensure that each recycled mobile phone is processed through formal sales channels via an environmentally-friendly manner.

Why is our assessed value lower than the offers other trade-in sites can provide?

The value is given based on the description list on the site. Since the list is different on each trade-in site, the given value will be different.
