How OnePlus has redefined the way consumers fuel throughout the years

Last month, OnePlus launched the OnePlus 8T, a premium smartphone that introduced Warp Charge 65 to North America. With the new feature, users can appreciate a full day of usage with only 15 minutes of charging. But this wasn't the first time OnePlus had taken the industry by storm with speed and efficiency, that's been the case the past four years. As we continue to redefine the way consumers fuel, let’s go back in time and revisit OnePlus’ fast charging milestones over the years.

2016

OnePlus 3 gets a Dash of speed

There's always a starting point, and for OnePlus’ Warp Charge, it was the launch of the OnePlus 3 and 3T back in 2016. The OnePlus 3 series introduced our first iteration of fast charging – Dash Charge. Dash Charge set the industry standard for charging speeds, giving users a day’s power with only 30 minutes plugged in. While other fast charging solutions caused heating issues and slowdowns, we built a power management system into our proprietary power adapter to limit the heat dispersion from our phones. This achievement was only the start of our pursuit for the fastest and smartest charging technology in the market.

2018

Pedal to the metal with the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition

Following the success of Dash Charge, OnePlus sought to rev up the speed with the launch of the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition. With the biggest battery found on a OnePlus device, the challenge was to create a charger that was more powerful and still as safe to use – so we created Warp Charge 30. The new technology could refuel the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition 50% in the just under 20 minutes. This was possible by upgrading the battery protection structure of the device and giving the charging cable a more durable exterior to handle all the power.

2020

Warp Charge goes Wireless with the OnePlus 8 Pro

Saying the OnePlus community has been instrumental in our product development would be an understatement. With the OnePlus 8 Pro, we took the community’s feedback and wish for wireless charging and made it a reality. The introduction of our new Warp Charge 30 Wireless Charger marked another key milestone for OnePlus. We didn't settle with regular wireless charging, we pushed it to the limit. Warp Charge 30 Wireless could power the OnePlus 8 Pro for a day of use with just 30 minutes on the dock. By adding a built-in cooling fan and smart features like Bedtime Mode, the Warp Charge 30 Wireless Charger was the personification of speed and safety.

OnePlus Buds charge at the speed of sound

The OnePlus Buds was our first venture into truly wireless stereo, and we were proud to introduce it with Warp Charge 30 to our community. With Warp Charge 30, the OnePlus Buds could provide 10 hours of music playback with only 10 minutes of charging. But we weren’t settled with a pair of truly wireless earbuds that could charge fast, we wanted to create the best overall listening experience. Features like Dolby Atmos, a bass-pumping dynamic driver, and an IPX4 rating allowed users to enjoy their favorite tunes with the most pleasure and comfort.
