TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW.

 

HOW TO ENTER: Beginning on February 7, 2025 through June 30, 2025 (the “Submission Period”), access the OnePlus website and navigate to the 2025 OnePlus Photography Awards webpage, or access the website of 500px, OnePlus’s official partner, and follow the instructions for submitting your photographs to the 2025 OnePlus Photography Awards contest (the “Contest”).

ELIGIBILITY: Open to residents of U.S and Canada who are 18 years of age and older as of the date of entry. Void where prohibited.

 

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

  • Each participant may submit up to 15 photographs per competition category, and may submit in 1 to 3 competition categories. However, participants will only win in 1 competition category.
  • Photographs submitted in the “OnePlus Group” must be taken on OnePlus phones. Photographs submitted in the “Public Group” may be taken on any mobile phone.
  • Submissions must include complete EXIF information. Missing EXIF information may result in disqualification.
  • Photographs must be photographed later than February 7, 2023, 23:59 (UTC+8).
  • Photographs must be in JPG, JPEG, PNG, DNG, HEIC and HEIF formats. The file size of each photograph must be larger than 3MB and not exceed 10MB.
  • Submissions must be original works and edits of the participant. The use of any desktop image processing program, automated or AI tools to generate, edit, or enhance the content of the photos will result in disqualification. Only basic edits such as brightness, contrast, white balance, and saturation via installed mobile phone editing apps are allowed. Submissions with composite and other modifications altering the original content will be disqualified.
  • Photographs that have previously won awards in other photography contests (including social media contests) or published on platforms other than free sharing or social media before the Winner Announcement (August 19, 2025), are ineligible for submission or winning any prizes.
  • Images containing explicit, illegal, or inappropriate content will be disqualified.

 

COPYRIGHT AND LICENSE: Participants retain the rights to their photographs; however, by entering the Contest, each participant grants OnePlus USA Corp. (“Sponsor”) and its affiliates (together, the “Promotion Parties”) a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to publicly display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or later developed, for any purpose, including, but not limited to, advertising and promotion of OnePlus products and OnePlus’s website and other commercial products (this includes any sales of products utilizing the photograph). Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible. The Promotion Parties will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.

 

 

JUDGING CRITERIA AND PROCESS:

  • Photographs will be judged based on composition, creativity, relevance, and visual storytelling.
  • During the Submission Period, the judging committee will periodically select preliminary entries.
  • Upon the closing of the Submission Period, the judging committee will conduct a review of the preliminary entries and select approximately 100 finalists for each competition category.
  • Finalists will be scored by an independent panel consisting of Hasselblad Ambassadors, Hasselblad Masters, and OnePlus Imaging Product Experts, assigning each work a score between 1-100 (ensuring effective differentiation). Judges will not communicate their opinions and will score independently.

 

WINNER SELECTION AND PRIZES:

  • Grand Prize: Photo of the Year – One (1) winner will be selected to receive a cash prize of $10,000 USD, an award certificate, one (1) OnePlus 13 phone, and the title of “OnePlus Photography Ambassador,” with potential future collaboration opportunities with OnePlus.
  • OnePlus Group: Winners in Main Categories
    • Gold Prize: One (1) winner per category will receive $5,000 USD
    • Silver Prize: Two (2) winners per category will each receive $2,000 USD
    • Bronze Prize: Three (3) winners per category will each receive $1,000 USD
    • All winners will each receive one (1) OnePlus 13 phone, an award certificate, the title of "OnePlus Photography Expert," with potential future collaboration opportunities with OnePlus.
  • Public Group: Winners in Main Categories
    • Gold Prize: One (1) winner per category will receive $5,000 USD
    • Silver Prize: One (1) winner per category will receive $2,000 USD
    • Bronze Prize: One (1) winner per category will receive $1,000 USD
    • All winners will each receive one (1) OnePlus 13 phone, an award certificate, the title of "OnePlus Photography Expert," with potential future collaboration opportunities with OnePlus.

 

WINNER NOTIFICATION: Winners will be announced on August 19, 2025 through the OnePlus website. Winners will also be notified by SMS, phone, or email. By entering this Activity, entrants give their express permission to be contacted by the Promotion Parties via direct message, telephone, e-mail, and/or postal mail concerning this Activity.

 

WINNER CONFIRMATION AND VERIFICATION: A winner will only be confirmed as the winner eligible to receive the Prize after the Sponsor has completed verification of the winner’s eligibility to win and confirmed the winner’s compliance with these Terms and Conditions.

 

To receive the prize(s), and as part of the winner confirmation and verification process, winners must accurately complete and timely return Sponsor’s Affidavit of Eligibility and any other documentation reasonably required by Sponsor or the provider of the prize(s) (where permitted by law), and/or any other document necessary to confirm and verify a winner’s eligibility, as determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion (collectively, the “Winner Documentation”). Winners must fully and accurately complete Winner Documentation and timely return all such documentation by the date specified by Sponsor, or the Winners may be disqualified and will forfeit any claim to any of the prizes(s).

 

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: By entering this Contest, participants waive all right to, and hold the Promotion Parties harmless from, any claim, liability, loss, damage (including punitive, incidental, and consequential damages), or expense (including attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with participation in this Activity or the acceptance, use, or misuse of any coupon or prize. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. Promotion Parties will not be responsible for: late, incomplete, or incorrect entries; an entrant's failure to receive prize notices due to participant's spam, junk e-mail, or other security settings or for entrants' provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information; technical, hardware, or software malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled, or delayed electronic communications whether caused by the sender or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or used in this Contest; by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this Contest; or any typographical, technological, or other error in the publishing of the offer, administration of the Contest, or announcement of the prizes. If, in the Promotion Parties’ opinion, there is such an error, or there is any suspected evidence of tampering with any portion of the sweepstakes, or if technical difficulties (including viruses and bugs) compromise the integrity of the Contest, Promotion Parties reserve the right to cancel or modify this Contest.  In the event of termination, winners will be selected from among all eligible entries received as of date of termination. In the event a dispute arises as to the identity of a potentially winning entrant, entries will be declared made by the name on the online entry form.

 

Promotion Parties are not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of this offer, administration of this Contest or in the announcement of winner and prize. In the event Promotion Parties are prevented from continuing with this promotion, or the integrity and/or feasibility of the promotion as planned is undermined by any event including but not limited to fire, flood, epidemic, pandemic, earthquake, explosion, labor dispute or strike, act of God or public enemy, satellite or equipment failure, riot or civil disturbance, war (declared or undeclared), terrorist threat or activity, or any federal, state or local government law, order or regulation, order of any court or jurisdiction (each a "Force Majeure" event or occurrence), Promotion Parties shall have the right, in its sole discretion, to abbreviate, modify, suspend, cancel or terminate the Contest and award the prizes from among all eligible entries received up to that date.

 

GENERAL PRIZE TERMS:  None of the Promotion Parties is responsible for, and a winner will not receive the difference (if any) between, the actual value of the prize(s) at the time of the award and the stated ARV in these Terms and Conditions.  Cash prizes are pre-tax amounts, and will be payable in United States dollars. If the winner is required to receive cash prizes in their local currency, the exchange rate as of June 30, 2025, 23:59 p.m. will be applied. Prizes are subject to availability and Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in their sole discretion (which prize shall be subject to these Terms and Conditions).  Prize details not specified herein will be determined by Sponsor in its discretion.  Prizes are nonrefundable, not redeemable for cash, and not transferable, and no cash alternative is available.  The prize is limited to that specified in the section titled “PRIZES” above, and all other expenses not specifically mentioned herein are not included in the prize and are solely the winner’s responsibility.  Gift cards, gift certificates and tickets, including but not limited to any that may be awarded by Sponsor in the event of a substitute prize, are subject to the terms and conditions specified thereon or otherwise specified by the issuer thereof.  If the winner is unable to, or elects not to, use any part of a prize, the winner will forfeit that part of the prize.  Any and all taxes on a prize are the sole responsibility of such prize winner.  The value of any prize awarded to a winner may be reported for tax purposes as required by law, and such winner must provide any additional information requested by Sponsor so that they can comply with applicable tax reporting obligations.  By participating in the Contest, you waive the right to assert any and all claims arising from or related to costs of verification or redemption of or travel to claim a prize and any liability or publicity that might arise from claiming or seeking to claim a prize. Additional restrictions may apply.

 

CHOICE OF LAW AND FORUM: Participant agrees that all matters arising out of or relating to this Activity and these Terms and Conditions are governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of California, without giving effect to any of its conflict of laws provisions thereof. Participant further agrees that any legal suit, action, or proceeding arising out of or relating to this sweepstakes and these Terms and Conditions shall be brought exclusively in the applicable federal or state courts located in Santa Clara County, California.

GENERAL: By entering this Contest, participants accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and the decisions of Promotion Parties on all matters relating to the Activity, which are final and binding.

 

GRANT OF PUBLICITY:  By accepting a prize, each winner agrees to, where legal, Promotion Parties’ use of his/her name, city and state of residence and/or likeness for advertising and publicity purposes in any and all media now or hereafter known throughout the world in perpetuity without further compensation, permission or notification and, upon request, will provide consent to such use in writing.
